Rhinos Rally For Late Win Over Flanderses

Hudsonville got a terrific performance from pitcher Dan-zu Sun, but it wasn't enough to beat the Redwood Rhinos. Redwood won the Hudsonville Park contest, 6-5. Sun was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Redwood reliever José Cruz picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Ken Travis took the loss. Redwood is now 45-37, Hudsonville 47-35.
Redwood used the timely hitting of Roy MacDonald to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
In comments to the Redwood Bulletin, MacDonald admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
