Renderos Stars in Hounds Win
|
The Hicksville Hounds knocked off the Redwood Rhinos, 7-5, at Hound Pound. Jesús Renderos, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Hicksville won. The center fielder was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Chris Johnson picked up the win with 9 innings of work. He allowed 1 earned run on 14 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 2-7. The win puts the Hounds at 27-51, while the Rhinos drop to 43-35.
Ramiro Rivera aided the Hicksville cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 4 with a triple.
