Cajuns Win 5-4 Walk-Off
|
Hicksville got a terrific performance from pitcher Boryenka Pospehov, but it wasn't enough to beat the Crowley Cajuns. Crowley won the Titans Ballpark contest, 5-4. Pospehov was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Crowley has now won 3 straight, while the Hounds have lost 3 in a row.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 4-4, second baseman Pedro Ramos won it for Crowley. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Ramos hit a first pitch fastball from Ricardo Hernández for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 5-4 win.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Hicksville manager Willie Mitchell. "The effort was great."
