Centennial Come Back Late to Clip Rhinos
|
The Fort Knox Centennial topped the Redwood Rhinos, 6-5, with designated hitter Tony Parra playing a big role. Parra was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double for the Centennial in the win. Fort Knox reliever Ed Cameron picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. David Guzmán took the loss. At 19-25, the Centennial find themselves in 7th place in the Premier R.
The Centennial were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when left fielder Juan Carlos Duprat turned a 2-2 curveball from Tommy Moore into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Fort Knox a thrilling 6-5 win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Parra after the game.
