The Twinsburg Tigers did just enough to sneak past the Redwood Rhinos, 3-2, at Dodge Field. Twinsburg pitcher Cédric Barbot earned player of the game honors. Getting the save was Steve Dimond, his 1st. Even with the win, the Tigers have a dismal 14-26 record.
Had Roland Thomas not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Thomas hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Tigers.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Redwood manager Frank Bass said following the tough loss.
