Late Rally by Music Secures Win
|
The Long Island Ducks got a superb performance from pitcher Jae-ho Kan, but the Memphis Music still won the game, 2-1. Kan was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Memphis reliever Anil Seshu was the winner. His record is now 3-0. The losing pitcher was Jimmy McDonald. Memphis is 5th in the Premier R with a record of 15-15.
The outcome might have been different for Memphis, had it not been for Luis Flores, the 20-year old first baseman . Flores stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Memphis up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Memphis manager Jim Thornton said.
