7-2 Win by Ducks Continues Hot Start
The Long Island Ducks knocked off the Hudsonville Flanderses, 7-2, at Hudsonville Park. Michizane Yamashita, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Long Island won. The right fielder was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Takayuki Shimizu got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 8.1 innings, giving up 2 runs on 10 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. Everton Stirzacre closed the door for Long Island, picking up his 4th save of the year.

Yamashita came through with some timely hitting for Long Island. With the score 0-0 in the top of the third and two down, Yamashita hit a 2-1 cutter for a 2-run single. His 20th hit of the season made it 2-0, Long Island.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Yamashita said after the game.

The Ducks, now 14-5, have hit the ground running this season.
