Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Ramiro Rivera, the Hicksville Hounds defeated the Redwood Rhinos, 4-3. Rivera was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Hounds. The win was credited to Tim Stroud in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Ramon Roodenburg took the loss. The Hounds, with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Joe Barrientez had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the tenth. The Hicksville pinch hitter came through with a run-scoring single to put Hicksville in front, 4-3.
"We put together a nice win," Rivera said.
