Voodoo Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
New Orleans starter Kevin Nogilny had a strong outing against the Charleston Battery at Charleston Armory. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 8-5 win. In 6 innings, Nogilny surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. The Voodoo are off to a tough start, getting just their 2nd win in 13 games.

Jerry Yates had a big 2-run home run for the Voodoo in the top of the first inning. With New Orleans leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Hildebrand Michielsen and stroked the home run to left-center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Voodoo ahead, 3-0.
