Bob Larsen pitched well, but his team, the Hicksville Hounds, still dropped a 4-3 decision to the Twinsburg Tigers at Hound Pound. Twinsburg reliever Ming-hoa Ngui got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bob Larsen was tagged with the loss. Raúl Nieves picked up the save for Twinsburg, his 2nd of the year.
Twinsburg used a timely hit from António Martínez to get the win. The left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Tigers on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We did enough to win," said Martínez.
The Tigers, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.
