Rhinos Prevail, 2-1, Over Fort Knox
|
The Fort Knox Centennial wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Peyton Keys, falling 2-1 to the Redwood Rhinos at The Zoo. The win was José Cruz's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Peyton Keys took the loss for Fort Knox. The win gives Redwood a record of 1-1.
Redwood took a 2-1 lead on Jimmy Cooper's 1st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Cooper hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Fort Knox pitcher Peyton Keys visibly frustrated.
Cooper attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
