Kent and Eugene met at The Riot Zone in front of a lively crowd.

The Kent Comets relied on the hitting of center fielder Jai-guo Tian to stop the Eugene Vandals, 8-5. For the game, Tian was 3 for 3 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. António del Pozo earned the save for Kent, his 18th.

Kent used the timely hitting of Zhao-ji Pan to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put the Comets ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Comets manager Jared Gilbert. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."

The win puts the Comets at 35-58, while the Vandals drop to 32-61.
