Comets Fall Short at Eugene
Eugene starter Juan Salas put a stranglehold on the Kent offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Vandals to a 1-0 win. Richello Dosono, credited with the win, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings. The 8th-place Comets have dropped 4 straight games.

Ángel Júlio was the walk-off hero for Eugene. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Vandals left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Jared Gilbert.
