The Myrtle Beach Seahawks got a sterling performance from pitcher Joe Gregg, but the Comets still prevailed, 5-4. Gregg was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He came in in relief and pitched to 14 batters . Kent starter Janghyun Han was credited with the win after throwing 109 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 4-8. Earning his 16th save of the year was António del Pozo.
It could have been a different outcome for Kent, had it not been for León Galiano, the 24-year old left fielder . Galiano contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Kent up, 5-0.
"I know we have our doubters," said Myrtle Beach manager Omer van Osch. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
The 8th-place Comets now have a win-loss record of 32-53.
