The Cut Off Crawdads got a rather unremarkable outing from starting pitcher Bhu Damocles, but it was good enough for the club to take a 4-3 decision over the Myrtle Beach Seahawks. Damocles, now 5-4, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. Cut Off, now 42-36, holds 6th place in the Premier A.
Cut Off first baseman Kennet Udinga contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 59th hit of the season and put the Crawdads ahead, 4-3.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Damocles. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
