Crawdads Roll to 9-2 Win Over Tula
|
The Cut Off Crawdads got a strong performance from pitcher Ángel Díaz, who stymied the Chicago offense en route to a 9-2 win at Ramblers Ballpark. Díaz, now 1-3, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 4, and allowing 2 earned runs. Cut Off occupies 6th place in the Premier A at 41-34.
The outcome might have been different for Cut Off, had it not been for Ramón Gabriel, the 19-year old third baseman . Gabriel stroked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put Cut Off up, 2-0. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Díaz said. "We did a good job of that today."
