The Caldwell Chiefs defeated the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 5-3, at Seahwaks Stadium. Caldwell shortstop Kane Felton was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Ari Schaller. Caldwell, now 38-32, holds 5th place in the Premier A.
Felton had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Adrián Gómez, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Chiefs a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Felton.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Felton told the Caldwell Herald.
