It was a fun time at Pipers Ballpark, where the Cut Off Crawdads and Caldwell Chiefs tangled.
The Caldwell Chiefs faced a tough opponent in Cut Off pitcher Bhu Damocles, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pipers Ballpark by a final score of 4-1. Damocles went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Reliever Jim Nasium picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Bhu Damocles took the loss.
The Chiefs got a big boost from right fielder Ramón Gómez who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh inning off Crawdads hurler Bhu Damocles. It was his 4th walk of the season and put Caldwell on top, 2-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Gómez told the Caldwell Herald.
Caldwell is now riding a 3-game win streak.
