The Galesburg Guzzlers defeated the Kent Comets, 6-2, at Fuller Park. Galesburg first baseman Ching Sun was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The Comets, at 13-21, have lost 9 straight games.
Sun had a key at-bat for Galesburg early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and gave Galesburg an early 1-0 lead.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Kent manager Jared Gilbert.
