The Cut Off Crawdads faced a tough opponent in Kent pitcher José Cruz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Crawdads Field by a final score of 5-4. Cruz went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Cut Off reliever Steve Parker picked up the win to move to 1-2. Eugene Dwyer suffered the loss. Ron Francis recorded the save for Cut Off, his 6th of the season.
Michael Warner had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Crawdads. Coming up with the bases loaded and Cut Off trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Kent manager Jared Gilbert. "The effort was great."
The losses continue to mount for Kent, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
