Vandals Lose Again, 4-2, to Comets
|
The losses keep piling up for the Eugene Vandals.
The Kent Comets got a strong performance from pitcher Tadao Ishihara, who stymied the Eugene offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Riot Zone. This loss makes it 8 in a row for Eugene.
Bill Carson produced at a critical juncture for Kent. It happened in the top of the eighth with Doug Swanson on the mound and Kent leading 3-2. That's when the 23-year old second baseman Carson reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Ishihara, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
