Hot Start Continues for Blaze

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the South Beach Blaze got the win.
South Beach Blaze starter Jack Forrest turned in a top-notch performance against the Caldwell Chiefs at The Ballpark on the Beach. The result was a win for the Blaze, 4-2. In 6 innings, Forrest surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs.
The Chiefs had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Blaze going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old center fielder Tim Wright came to the plate. Wright hit a run-scoring single on a 2-2 changeup from Caldwell hurler Donald Nexport. It was Wright's 16th hit of the year.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said South Beach manager António Molina. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Blaze, now 10-4, have been on a roll in the early going.
