Kent right-hander Billy Hansen was sensational in shutting out the Cut Off Crawdads, 1-0. António del Pozo closed it out for his 1st save. With the win, Kent improves its record to 5-6.
The Crawdads had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Comets going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old third baseman Jorge Hernández came to the plate. Hernández hit a solo home run on a 1-1 fastball from Cut Off hurler Bhu Damocles. It was Hernández's 2nd home run of the year.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Hernández said after the game.
