Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Jorge Napolez, the Caldwell Chiefs defeated the Kent Comets, 6-3. Napolez was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Chiefs. Caldwell is now 3-2.
The outcome might have been different for Caldwell, had it not been for Luis Miguel Monteblanco, the 20-year old second baseman . Monteblanco stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Caldwell up, 3-0. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Monteblanco. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
