Godfathers Come Up Short at Mancelona
The Torch had to overcome a fine effort from Pontiac pitcher Basilio Delgado to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Torch Field. Delgado went 7.2 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Marcos Lucero, credited with the win, is now 4-9. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits in 7 innings. Mun-wah Rao converted his 2nd save in 3 tries.

Wayne Haylock dealt the Godfathers a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with a runner on 1st and Mancelona leading 3-1, Haylock, who is tied for 10th in the SA in doubles with 25, hit a full count slider for a run-scoring double.

"We found a way to get it done," Haylock said.

Mancelona is now riding a 3-game win streak.
