Torch Come Back Late to Clip Godfathers
The Pontiac Godfathers got a sterling performance from third baseman Brad Dyer, but the Torch still prevailed, 5-4. Dyer was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He hit 2 home runs. With the win over Pontiac, the Torch improved to 46-48.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Mancelona center fielder Carlos Vélez, facing Darwin McGinnity, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Torch the 5-4 win.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Vélez said after the game.
