Multi-HR Game for Gilmore in 9-3 Win
|
The Washington Generals knocked off the Levittown Blue Dragons, 9-3, at Washington Park. Joe Gilmore, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Washington won. The left fielder was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Reliever Sung-tae O picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Shawn Adams took the loss. The Generals raised their record to 34-57.
Washington took a 4-3 lead on Paul Marchand's 49th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Marchand hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Levittown pitcher Shawn Adams visibly frustrated.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Marchand told the Washington Daily News. "It's as simple as that."
