Niagara Falls starter Ralph Hanscombe had a strong outing against the Mancelona Torch at Waterfall Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Hanscombe got the win, improving to 4-7. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. Hanscombe allowed 3 earned runs. Even with the win, the Expos have a dismal 23-62 record.
The Expos got a big at-bat from first baseman Caleb Kennedy. For the game, Kennedy went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 20th double of the season gave Niagara Falls a 4-3 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Kennedy, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
