Victory Over Blue Dragons Takes Laredo to 46-29
|
The Levittown Blue Dragons and Laredo Hawks brought some excitement to The Cave at Levittown.
The Laredo Hawks beat the Levittown Blue Dragons, 8-3, at The Cave at Levittown. The Hawks got a fine performance from third baseman Woody Maxwell, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Mike Wilson, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 6.1 innings. De'Coldest Crawford was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when right fielder Victor Jensen, who is tied for 4th in the SA in extra base hits with 34, drew a walk. The Hawks went on to win.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Laredo manager Leonardo Sánchez.
The second-place Hawks now have a 5-game winning streak.
