Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Woody Maxwell, the Laredo Hawks defeated the Levittown Blue Dragons, 4-1. Maxwell hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Hawks. The second-place Hawks now have a 4-game winning streak.

Laredo took a 3-1 lead on Maxwell's 17th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off César Cruz in the top of the sixth, propelled Laredo to the win.

"I thought we played a nice game," Maxwell told the Laredo Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
