Concepción Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Delaware in Walk-Off Win
|
In a well-pitched game between the Delaware 1787 BC and the Pontiac Godfathers, pitcher Rémy Moreau was fantastic. The Delaware right-hander was named the player of the game in Delaware's 1-0 win. Francisco Díaz picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. Tony Wilson was tagged with the loss. Delaware now owns a record of 39-30.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Luis Concepción came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. Facing Pontiac pitcher Tony Wilson, he hit a 0-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Delaware on top, 1-0.
"Runs were at a premium," said Delaware manager Melvin Henry.
