The Pontiac Godfathers topped the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-2, in USSL Single A action at Pontiac Copperdome. The player of the game was Pontiac pitcher and Newark, New Jersey native Kent Copeland. Earning his 3rd save for Pontiac was Darwin McGinnity. The last-place Expos have dropped 4 straight games.
New York-born Rich Pope came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded and the Godfathers trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Pontiac on top.
