Godfathers Come Up Short at Mancelona
|
Mancelona starter Adam Wright pitched effectively against the Pontiac Godfathers at Torch Field. The right-hander led his team to a 3-2 win. John Savage earned the save for Mancelona, his 8th of the year. With the victory, the Torch record now stands at 27-25.
In the bottom of the fourth, Mancelona center fielder Carlos Vélez had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Vélez stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 3-0, Mancelona. For the game, he went 1-2 with 2 walks.
"I liked his command," said Mancelona manager Ezequiel Chosson. "Adam was throwing strikes."
