Fans who came to Torch Field watched the Mancelona Torch and the Niagara Falls Expos fight to the finish.

The Mancelona Torch downed the Niagara Falls Expos, 7-6, at Torch Field. The Torch were led by Paul Sykes, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mancelona reliever Mun-wah Rao picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Sergio Castro was collared with the loss.

Had Joel Fagliano not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Fagliano hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Torch.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Fagliano told the Mancelona Observer.

At 26-25, the Torch find themselves in 7th place in the Silver A.
