Generals Turn Back Grim, 3-1

Washington and Grim duked it out at Washington Park and the Generals came out victorious.
Washington Generals starter Ron Blackshaw turned in a top-notch performance against the Grim Reapers at Washington Park. The result was a win for the Generals, 3-1. Del Jones recorded the save for Washington, his 4th of the season.
Paul Marchand had a big run-scoring single for the Generals in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Washington leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Domingo Galló and stroked the single to center. It was his 31st hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Generals ahead, 3-1.
"We'll savor this win," Marchand told the Washington Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
The 8th-place Generals now have a 4-game winning streak.
