The 1787 BC grabbed a win, 5-2, at Carrier Field, overcoming a fine effort from Laredo pitcher Gavriil Wolfson. Wolfson went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Delaware reliever Ron Plummer picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Bill Gould was saddled with the loss. Francisco Díaz got credit for the save for Delaware. It was his 11th of the year.
Had Mhelter Tejano not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Tejano hit a bases-clearing triple. That made the score 5-2, in favor of the 1787 BC.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Tejano said after the game.
At 26-22, Delaware is in 6th place in the Silver A.
