Victory Pushes Smokies Record to 25-21
|
The Smokies had to overcome a fine performance from Mancelona pitcher Marcos Lucero to grab a 3-0 win at Smokies Stadium. Lucero allowed 3 earned runs over 7.1 innings. The Smokies raised their record to 25-21.
Dae-jin Dokgo had a big 2-run triple for the Smokies in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Tennessee leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Marcos Lucero and stroked the triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Smokies ahead, 3-0.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Dokgo told the Tennessee Bulletin.
