Generals Score Late to Upend Expos, 2-1
|
The Washington Generals got a magnificent effort from pitcher Joe Kelly, who kept Niagara Falls hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Generals win at Washington Park. Washington reliever Juan Gutiérrez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Yaw Selemani shouldered the loss. Washington's record now stands at 16-26, placing them 8th in the Silver A.
Asko Huhtamo was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Generals first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Niagara Falls manager Alan Manor. "The effort was great."
