The Laredo Hawks defeated the Niagara Falls Expos, 5-2, in USSL Single A action at Waterfall Park, with Laredo pitcher Matt Cornett named player of the game. André Noël locked down his 6th save. Laredo has run its win streak to 5 in a row.

Laredo used the timely hitting of Kalino Iolana to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Hawks ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.

Cornett told a Laredo Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
