Washington beat Laredo on the strength of starter Ron Blackshaw's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. The Generals improved to 15-19.

Joe Gilmore had a big 2-run home run for the Generals in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Washington leading 3-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Matt Cornett and stroked the home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Generals ahead, 5-0.

Blackshaw called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
