Godfathers Prevail, 7-5, Over Delaware
Despite a great performance by Delaware shortstop Mhelter Tejano, the Pontiac Godfathers defeated the 1787 BC by the score of 7-5 at Pontiac Copperdome. Tejano went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Pontiac reliever Les Wright picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Kenneth Knapp absorbed the loss. Tony Wilson nailed down his 3rd save.

The 1787 BC had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Godfathers going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old catcher Nathaniel Gordon came to the plate. Gordon hit a run-scoring single on a 1-0 fastball from Delaware hurler Kenneth Knapp. It was Gordon's 28th hit of the year.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Gordon, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

The win puts the Godfathers at 12-21, while the 1787 BC drop to 15-18.
