Hawks Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Tennessee
|
The Laredo Hawks stopped the Tennessee Smokies, 6-3, behind an impressive performance from Scott Beavis. The 20-year old right fielder made life miserable for Tennessee pitching. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 3 runs. Laredo is in 5th place in the Silver A with a record of 15-15.
Laredo relied on the hitting of Steve Turner to pick up the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hawks on top, 4-2. For the game, Turner had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Turner called the win "a collective effort."
