Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Godfathers
The Pontiac Godfathers eked out a 6-5 win versus the Tennessee Smokies at Pontiac Copperdome. Nobody did more than second baseman Xie-li Shiu, who captured player of the game honors. Pontiac is 6-14 and Tennessee, with the loss, 12-8.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Pontiac trailing 5-4, Nathaniel Gordon hit a fastball from Kyle Hayes to right for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Godfathers had a walk-off win.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Tennessee manager Edward Whipp. "But we decided not to take it."
