Hawks Bang Out 8-2 Win Versus Grim
The Laredo Hawks beat the Grim Reapers, 8-2, at Hawks Field. Laredo right fielder Scott Beavis earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs. Laredo reliever André Noël got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Leo Cassidy was tagged with the loss. Domingo Jones earned the save, his 1st.

Beavis had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Leo Cassidy, he banged a bases-clearing double to right-center, giving the Hawks a 5-2 lead. It was the 9th double of the year for Beavis.

"We had a nice day," said Laredo skipper Leonardo Sánchez.

The Reapers fall to 9-10 and continue their wobbly start to the 2042 season.
