Belleville Wins 8-2 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
Belleville Bulls starter Arthur Stevenson kept the Grim Reapers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 8-2 win. Stevenson went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-1. The Bulls, now 12-3, have been playing some good baseball.
In the bottom of the 6th, shortstop Kenny Dixon gave Belleville the lead when he hit a grand slam home run. The Bulls had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Grim pitcher Yoichi Amano changed that -- and Belleville went on to win.
"We had a nice day," said Belleville skipper Lou Cook.
