The Delaware 1787 BC scored a 6-5 win versus the Washington Generals at Washington Park. Delaware pitcher Foeke Reus nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Delaware reliever Dario Zorander was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Pie-qi Gao took the loss for Washington. Francisco Díaz earned his 4th save in 5 tries.

Delaware used the clutch hitting of Jaime López to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the 1787 BC ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said López.

The Generals fall to 5-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2042 season.
