The Levittown Blue Dragons topped the Mancelona Torch, 2-1, in USSL Single A action at Torch Field. The player of the game was Levittown pitcher and Havana, Cuba native Francisco Díaz. Díaz went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. The save was credited to César Cruz, his 1st.
Levittown used the timely hitting of Ramón Gabriel to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Dragons on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Díaz.
The Torch fall to 7-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2042 season.
