Reapers Solve Torch, 5-3
|
The Grim Reapers beat the Mancelona Torch, 5-3, at The Coffin. The win was largely due to the efforts of third baseman Bao-tian Tong, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Josse Gavicho earned the save, his 4th, for the Reapers. Grim, now 8-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Joe Gregory, the Grim designated hitter, contributed a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 4-2, Reapers. For the game, Gregory was 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Tong told reporters after the game.
