The Mancelona Torch picked up a win at Washington Park, knocking off the Washington Generals, 7-2. Starting pitcher Danny Byrd was an essential part of his team's success. The win moves Mancelona to a record of 3-1.
The result might have been different for Mancelona, had it not been for Francisco Rocha. The left fielder produced a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Torch ahead, 3-0. For the game, Rocha had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Rocha told the Mancelona Observer.
