Expos Lose, 4-3, at Carrier Field
|
The Delaware 1787 BC overcame a good performance by Niagara Falls right fielder Arnie Birand to knock off Niagara Falls, 4-3, at Carrier Field. Birand went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Francisco Díaz nailed down his 1st save. The 1787 BC, now 3-0, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The game hit a turning point in the bottom of the third inning, when the 1787 BC were trailing 2-1. Justin Schock delivered a two-out bases-clearing double for Delaware, catapulting his team into the lead.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Niagara Falls manager Alan Manor. "But we decided not to take it."
